Precolonial Africa Unit-6th Grade Social Studies

After speaking with my teacher , we decided that it would be best for me to take on the unit of Precolonial Africa. I haven't really had time to set down and focus on what i will do but I know I will incorporate technology and student discussion. A lot of the times my teacher has her students search for the knowledge themselves. So I want to take that approach and make it more creative such as role playing, tech tools, video creation, etc. Precolonial Africa should be a stretch for me in my knowledge and teaching. I hope to introduce the students to some web 2.0 tools as well during this unit.

Also I would like to have students become familiar with primary sources. I intend to use primary sources to help my instruction during this unit.
